MAUMEE, Ohio (WTVG) — A son in Maumee prevented scammers from swindling his elderly father out of $7,000 by recognizing a Microsoft refund email as a scam and contacting authorities. The Maumee Police Division advises being cautious of urgent, fear-inducing requests and recommends reporting potential scams to law enforcement and the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center.
