The co-hosts of MS NOW’s “The Weeknight” sounded off on what they called the “latest boost” to President Donald Trump’s ego. On Thursday, Palm Beach International Airport was officially rebranded as the “President Donald J. Trump International Airport,” making Trump the first sitting president to have an airport named in his honor.

The renaming also came along with another unusual quirk: a licensing agreement that allows the Trump family to profit from any airport merchandise sold off the premises.

As Luke Russert pointed out, the new name hasn’t exactly been received warmly by those in the community. “Palm Beach County has voted for the Democrats in the last four presidential elections, so the people who use that airport the most, at least the locals, they have a much different political persuasion than the president, for the most part,” he observed.

“Folks ain’t gonna be happy flying into that airport,” Michael Steele agreed.

When it comes to the president’s licensing agreement, Russert said the deal was part of the “culture of Trump,” who has pushed his imprimatur on nearly every corner of the government since retaking office.
