National Guard deployed after ICE officer’s finger allegedly bitten off
CITY, State (Fox News) — Homeland Security official Tricia McLaughlin shared a photo of a federal law enforcement officer’s severed finger after an anti-ICE protester allegedly bit it off in Minneapolis.
Assault on Law Enforcement Officer
McLaughlin posted photos of two individuals in custody but did not specify the alleged biter. Ongoing protests in Minneapolis intensified after two U.S. citizens died during immigration enforcement operations.
Fatal Shooting by Border Patrol
Before the incident, a Border Patrol agent fatally shot an armed man in Minneapolis. The man, a 37-year-old U.S. citizen, approached agents with a pistol and resisted violently. Officials described it as a potential massacre attempt on law enforcement.
Escalating Violence
Around 200 rioters obstructed and assaulted law enforcement, prompting Border Patrol chief Greg Bovino to call for state and local support. The Minnesota National Guard will provide additional security at the Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building.
