HACKENSACK, New Jersey (Fox News) — Illegal immigrant Hernando Garcia-Morales is accused of injuring an 8-year-old girl by throwing a rock at a school bus in New Jersey.

Arrest and Charges

Garcia-Morales faces multiple charges for the Jan. 7 incident, including aggravated assault and possession of a weapon. The Department of Homeland Security issued an arrest detainer against him.

Criminal History

Garcia-Morales has a criminal history dating back two decades, including arrests for theft, burglary, and giving false information. He confessed to the rock-throwing incident and other similar crimes in the area.

Legal Proceedings

A superior court judge ordered Garcia-Morales to remain in Bergen County jail until the case is resolved. Last year, the Justice Department sued four New Jersey cities over sanctuary city policies.
