Don Lemon predicts Trump will ‘retrofit’ law to prosecute him over coverage
CITY, State (Fox News) — Former CNN host Don Lemon warned in an interview with Scripps News that the Trump administration may try to prosecute him, even without a fitting law, for following agitators into a St. Paul, Minnesota church earlier this month.
## Lemon’s Concerns
Lemon expressed concern that the administration would “retrofit” a law or bypass a judge to prosecute him, despite not being a protester himself. A federal magistrate judge rejected the Justice Department’s attempt to bring charges against Lemon.
## Lemon’s Response
Lemon stated that he was just covering the protest as an act of journalism and faced violent threats online from supporters of the administration. He emphasized the need to focus on investigating the tragic death of Renee Nicole Good, the issue that led to the protests.
## Agitators’ Motive
Agitators disrupted a church service in St. Paul’s Cities Church due to their belief that a pastor at the church collaborated with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
