PORTLAND, Oregon (Fox News) — Former Portland Trail Blazers player Chris Dudley announces candidacy for governor of Oregon.

Key Facts:

• Dudley, a Republican and 16-year NBA veteran, announced his candidacy in a video online.
• He narrowly lost the governor race in 2010 by less than two percentage points.
• Dudley spent six seasons with the Trail Blazers and also played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks, and Phoenix Suns.
• He joins a field of 14 Republicans and six Democrats in the race to defeat current Gov. Tina Kotek.
• The Oregon primary election is scheduled for May 19.
