CITY, State (Fox News) — Frigid temperatures in the Southeast lead to event cancellations and flight disruptions.
## South Cancellations
Airlines canceled flights in anticipation of extreme weather, with over 12,000 U.S. flights disrupted. Disney and Universal closed water parks due to arctic temperatures.
## Southeast Impacts
Dangerously cold temperatures led to frostbite warnings in Florida. Georgia attractions closed, and events like Braves Fest in Atlanta and Ringling Bros. circus performances in North Carolina were canceled.
## Canceled Events
Highly anticipated events like the Polar Plunge in Myrtle Beach, Braves Fest in Atlanta, and Aqueduct Racetrack weekend racing in Queens were postponed or canceled due to the severe weather.
## Penguin Plunge Postponed
The Penguin Plunge fundraiser in West Hartford, CT, organized to support Special Olympics Connecticut, was postponed to a later date in March due to glacial temperatures.
