NEW YORK, State (Fox News) — Nearly $200,000 has been donated in just two days after a New York police officer, Nassau County Police Department (NCPD) Officer Patricia Espinosa, 42, was killed by a suspected drunk driver.

Espinosa, a dedicated officer and new mother, was fatally struck by a car running a red light on her way to work. She leaves behind her husband and fellow officer Francisco Malaga and their 2-year-old daughter, Mia.

The Nassau County Police Benevolent Association (NCPBA) mourned the loss of Espinosa, emphasizing her service and sacrifice. The driver involved, identified as 20-year-old Matthew Smith, was charged with DWI.
