Kennedy and his legal team held a news conference on Dec. 26 in Michigan, announcing the lawsuit against Metcalf, the Steelers, Ford Field, and others. The filing includes nine counts, alleging negligence and defamation.

During a game on Dec. 21, Metcalf appeared to swing at Kennedy, leading to a two-game suspension. Allegations of racial slurs were made by Chad Johnson on a podcast, which Kennedy denies.

Kennedy is suing the Steelers for liability, while Metcalf faces assault and battery accusations. The lawsuit also holds Ford Field management accountable for lack of security measures.
