ABC’s 20/20 Airs ‘Help Dale Find Dee’ Special Tonight — 13 Action News Featured
ABC’s 20/20 airs a two-hour episode on the Dee Warner murder case tonight — and 13 Action News is featured in the episode, covering the case that has gripped southeastern Michigan for years.
“Help Dale Find Dee” airs Friday, Oct. 23, from 9 to 11 p.m. ET on ABC (13abc in Toledo) and streams the next day on Disney+ and Hulu. Linsey Davis reports.
Dee Warner, a 52-year-old businesswoman and mother of five, disappeared from her Lenawee County home on April 25, 2021, after failing to respond to messages and calls from her children.
The investigation stretched for years. Warner’s brother, Gregg Hardy, bought a billboard reading “Help Dale Find Dee” to pressure her husband, who initially told authorities he was not worried about her disappearance. Townspeople marched chanting “Jail for Dale,” and the Michigan State Police took over the case.
In August 2024, investigators found Warner’s body inside an anhydrous ammonia tank on the family’s 1,500-acre property — her body well-preserved in the tank’s conditions. Medical examiners determined she died of strangulation and blunt force trauma to the head.
Dale Warner was arrested in November 2023 and found guilty in February 2026, sentenced to up to 70 years in prison. His attorney said he will seek an appeal.
