SPELLLING Collaborates with Turnstile’s Brendan Yates on New Version of "Portrait of My Heart"

SPELLLING has teamed up with Brendan Yates of Turnstile to release a fresh take on her track "Portrait of My Heart." The collaboration came about after Turnstile invited SPELLLING to join them for shows in 2022, where Yates caught her attention by singing a lyric from her song "Boys at School." Recognizing the potential for a great musical partnership, SPELLLING invited Yates to lend his vocals to the remix of "Portrait of My Heart."

Describing the collaboration, SPELLLING expressed excitement at the opportunity to combine their distinct musical styles, saying, “Having him sing on this ‘Portrait of my Heart’ remix was such a cool way to capture our radically different but mutually appreciated musical expressions.”

Yates also shared his enthusiasm for working with SPELLLING, citing her album "The Turning Wheel" as his favorite of the year on NPR’s ‘faves on faves.’ He expressed joy in discovering that SPELLLING’s music resonated with him, highlighting the mutual admiration between artists.

"Portrait of My Heart" is the title track of SPELLLING’s fourth album, released last year, which also featured Turnstile’s Pat McCrory on guitar for the track "Alibi."
