BookTok, the dragons have landed — well, almost. Prime Video has officially cast its Violet Sorrengail and Xaden Riorson for the “Fourth Wing” series, and the Empyrean universe is about to get very real.

Esther McGregor, 24 — best known for “We Were Liars” — will play Violet Sorrengail, the fierce dragon rider at the heart of Rebecca Yarros’s blockbuster romantasy saga. Opposite her, Emilio Sakraya, 30 (“Warrior Nun”), takes on Xaden Riorson, the brooding wingleader fans have been fancasting for years.

The casting, first reported by Deadline and Variety, ends months of speculation over who would bring Yarros’s beloved leads to life.

But Prime Video isn’t stopping at one book. The streamer also announced plans to adapt the follow-ups “Iron Flame” and “Onyx Storm” — a clear signal this is a multi-season commitment to the Empyrean universe, not a one-and-done.

With Michael B. Jordan on board as executive producer and Yarros herself drawing on personal experience to shape Violet’s portrayal, expectations are sky-high. No release date yet — but consider this your official permission to start a reread.
