WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair says he is home and focused on recovery after a fall outside a Tampa restaurant sent him to hospital on Friday, Oct. 23.
Flair, 77, shared a photo on Saturday showing him under a blanket with a dressing over his right eye, thanking fans for their messages and prayers and thanking the staff and doctors at Tampa General Hospital, who he said cared for him until 4:30 a.m.
“I am focused on my healing and recovery right now. I will be okay!” Flair wrote.
The fall came hours after Flair announced he had to cancel a scheduled appearance at Washington State Horror Con in Puyallup, Washington, on Oct. 24–25 because of a blood clot in his leg. He said his doctors had limited his travel to three to four hours and that he was due to undergo a procedure to strip the affected vein.
TMZ reported Flair fell outside a restaurant in Tampa, cutting his head and eye, and was taken to hospital by ambulance; a possible concussion was also mentioned in the initial report. That detail remains reported, not confirmed by Flair’s own update.
Flair’s daughter, WWE star Charlotte Flair, told fans Friday night that her father was “going to be ok.” In his Saturday post, Flair also addressed posts that appeared on his Facebook page while he was hospitalized, saying he no longer owns that page and apologizing for what he called reckless and inappropriate posting there.
The 16-time world champion, known as “The Nature Boy,” last wrestled in 2022. Fans flooded his Saturday update with messages wishing him a speedy recovery.
