MS NOW’s Nicolle Wallace issued a warning to Republicans ahead of the midterm elections, calling President Donald Trump’s “dumpster fire of an economy” a “fire-alarm political fire” for the GOP as Americans continue to struggle with everyday prices.

“Poll after poll after poll shows Trump reaching new lows seemingly by the day and bringing his party down with him,” she said Thursday, pointing to Nate Silver’s new polling average for the president’s approval rating, which found 58% disapproved of the job he’s doing.

“That is the lowest that anyone has reached at this point in their term since the year 1946,” the “Deadline: White House” host said.

According to Wallace, those “new lows are driven by voters’ anger and frustration” with Trump’s economic record. While the issue was “once a strong suit” for the president, she noted he is now “underwater 28 points” on his handling of the economy. And when it came to inflation, which remains top of mind for many Americans, only 26.5% approved of the job Trump was doing.
