The Tampa Bay Rays, down to their final outs and facing a sweep, scored twice in the bottom of the 12th inning to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 in World Series Game 4 Tuesday night at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, forcing Game 5.

Rookie Cooper Pratt gave Milwaukee a 3-2 lead with a solo home run in the top of the 12th. In the bottom half, Junior Caminero reached on a throwing error by Brewers third baseman Joey Ortiz, pinch-runner Cedric Mullins took third on a Liam Hicks single, Jonny DeLuca’s single tied the game 3-3, Chandler Simpson’s single loaded the bases, and pinch-hitter Ben Williamson’s single to right won it.

Chandler Simpson’s double drove in DeLuca in the 2nd inning for a 1-0 lead. Pratt’s RBI double tied the game in the 4th, Caminero scored on an error in the bottom of the 4th to make it 2-1, and David Hamilton’s solo homer tied it 2-2 in the 5th. There was no more scoring until the 12th.

Milwaukee still leads the series 3-1, one win from the franchise’s first title. Tampa Bay is just the fifth of 26 teams trailing 3-0 in a World Series to win Game 4, but the previous four all lost Game 5, and no team leading a World Series 3-0 has ever lost the series (25-0).

Game 5 is Wednesday night, Oct. 28, at Tropicana Field on FOX. Brewers ace Jacob Misiorowski starts; Tampa Bay’s starter has not been announced. Caminero left Game 4 limping, but manager Kevin Cash said he would play Wednesday.
