The Milwaukee Brewers crushed the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1 in Game 3 of the World Series on Monday, October 26, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, moving within one win of the first World Series championship in franchise history.
Milwaukee now leads the series 3-0. The breakthrough came in a historic eight-run fifth inning, scored all with two outs — a World Series first with six consecutive run-scoring hits.
Jackson Chourio went 4-for-5, giving him eight hits in three games in the series. Robert Gasser delivered six shutout innings, allowing just one hit, before Brandon Woodruff returned in the ninth and allowed the Rays’ only run.
History is firmly on Milwaukee’s side: no team down 3-0 has ever won a World Series, and teams leading 3-0 are 25-0 all-time.
Game 4 is Tuesday night in Tampa Bay, where Milwaukee can clinch its first championship in franchise history.
