Eminem & Lil Wayne Pull a Last-Minute Switch on Kid Rock’s New Album
Plot twist at the finish line: Kid Rock’s brand-new album Halfway 2 Jesus is coming with a feature nobody saw coming — because the one everyone expected just got swapped.

A new Kid Rock–Eminem song arrives Friday, October 17 — but it’s NOT the track fans were bracing for. Eminem is now the featured guest on a previously undisclosed song called “Heal My Faith,” not “7 Sins” as originally announced on October 1.
So what happened to “7 Sins”? It gets its own heavyweight. After Eminem’s verse was moved off the track, Lil Wayne stepped in with an impromptu rap interlude recorded early this week — a last-minute change of plans, according to the Detroit Free Press, which was inside Kid Rock’s Nashville studio Monday as the crunch-time scramble unfolded.
Here’s the wild part: Eminem recorded verses for both songs during the past year. With the final mastered album due to streaming services within 48 hours, the pieces got shuffled at the eleventh hour.
The album also leans into AI: the opening track “Freedom” and “7 Sins” both use the technology — Kid Rock used the tool Suno to turn three backing vocalists into a gospel choir. He says he embraces AI as a tool, not for wholesale song creation.
For Toledo, this one’s personal: Eminem and Kid Rock are Michigan-bred legends of the Detroit hip-hop scene, just an hour up the road — and now they’re sharing a tracklist with Lil Wayne. This is a Michigan moment we get to claim.
