COLUMBIA, S.C. — LaNorris Sellers accounted for three touchdowns and Malik Orsan drilled a 48-yard field goal as time expired to lift South Carolina past No. 11 Tennessee 27-24 on Saturday night, the Gamecocks’ second straight win over a ranked opponent.

Down 24-17, South Carolina stopped Tennessee on fourth-and-1 with 3:35 to play. Sellers then drove the Gamecocks 61 yards in six plays, fighting through two defenders on third-and-goal for a 4-yard touchdown that was upheld on review to tie the game with 1:17 left.

On Tennessee’s next drive, Dylan Stewart strip-sacked quarterback George MacIntyre and Tomiwa Durojaiye recovered at the Tennessee 34 with 33 seconds remaining. South Carolina ran the clock down to 3 seconds, and Orsan split the uprights for the walk-off win as fans rushed the field.

Sellers finished 18 of 32 for 210 yards passing and ran for 96 yards with two rushing touchdowns. Tennessee had rallied from 14-0 down to lead 24-17 behind DeSean Bishop’s 130 rushing yards and a touchdown, but could not hold on. South Carolina improves to 4-3 (2-3 SEC); Tennessee falls to 6-2 (3-2 SEC).

The field storming will cost South Carolina under the SEC’s access-to-competition-area policy, which now carries a flat $500,000 fine paid to the visiting team. Tennessee itself was fined the same amount last week after fans rushed the field following its win over Alabama.
