AUSTIN, Texas — No. 19 Texas survived a wild one Saturday, beating No. 7 Ole Miss 34-27 after blowing a 24-3 halftime lead and then retaking it late.
The Longhorns led 24-3 at the break before Ole Miss stormed back to tie it 24-24 in the fourth quarter. Arch Manning’s second rushing touchdown put Texas back ahead 31-24, and a late field goal made it 34-27.
Ole Miss recovered an onside kick in the final 1:20, but Trinidad Chambliss’s last Hail Mary was intercepted by Jelani McDonald to seal it.
Texas improves to 5-2. The win is the Longhorns’ biggest of the season — and another ranked team to fall on a Saturday full of upsets.
