Jay-Z to Headline Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show
It’s official, and it’s huge: Jay-Z is headlining the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show.
Apple Music, the NFL, and Roc Nation announced Monday, Oct. 26, 2026 that Jay-Z will perform at the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2027, airing on ESPN, ABC, and Disney+. The announcement came during halftime of Monday Night Football, with the Dallas Cowboys facing the Philadelphia Eagles.
“From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey. Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true,” Jay-Z said.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said: “When we first reached an agreement with Roc Nation to produce the show, I had just one request: that Jay-Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him.”
This is a full-circle moment decades in the making. Jay-Z’s company Roc Nation has co-produced the halftime show since 2019, helping bring The Weeknd, the Dr. Dre lineup, Rihanna, Usher, Kendrick Lamar, and Bad Bunny to the world’s biggest stage. He is a 25-time Grammy winner, a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, and the first hip-hop artist in the Songwriters Hall of Fame. And 2026 marks 30 years of “Reasonable Doubt” and 25 years of “The Blueprint.”
Here’s the wild part: he has never performed at a Super Bowl, and he has not released an album since 2017’s “4:44.” He just played two nights at SoFi Stadium Oct. 23-24 — the same venue as the game — so he already knows exactly how that stage feels.
And the fun twist? The man who has picked the halftime acts for years finally picked himself — reports Oct. 20 said he chose himself over Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber.
Detroit and Ohio fans can start planning now — Feb. 14, 2027 is Valentine’s Day, and the biggest stage in music just got its biggest name.
