Even Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have to get past the neighbors. Plans for trees at the couple’s $5.35 million estate on the Lake Erie shore in Bratenahl, Ohio, hit a snag at a Village of Bratenahl Architectural Review Board meeting earlier in October, with a revised plan due back Nov. 10.
Neighbors turned out to complain about plans to add trees to the rear of the property, according to 19 News in Cleveland reporting cited by the Akron Beacon Journal. Their concerns: existing trees coming down, new trees blocking views of Lake Erie, and whether new trees could damage a century-old shared sewer line.
The plan for the rear of the property did not meet the village’s 10-foot limit on tree height. The board will meet again on Nov. 10 to review a revised plan.
The estate is a few miles from Kelce’s hometown of Cleveland Heights. Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce have deep Ohio roots, playing for the Cincinnati Bearcats before their NFL careers. Swift and Kelce married July 3, 2026, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Earlier reporting (Cleveland.com, via subsequent coverage) said a revised privacy-fence plan for the estate was approved in September after the original 8-foot proposal was scaled back to 6 feet, with a corridor left open to preserve lake views. The tree/landscaping portion was treated separately and is what returns Nov. 10.
