Vice President JD Vance is expected to hold a daytime rally in Toledo on Monday, Nov. 2 — the day before Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Multiple Republican sources tell The Rooster the vice president will rally at Toledo Express Airport. Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz confirmed Thursday that Vance will visit the Toledo area Monday. One source with direct knowledge told The Rooster they had already been asked by the Secret Service about attending as part of the advance process.
The visit lands in a marquee local race: Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-Toledo) faces former State Rep. Derek Merrin (R-Monclova) in a district redrawn to R+11. Kaptur defeated Merrin in 2024. House Speaker Mike Johnson was also in Lucas County this week rallying support for Merrin, while Ohio Democrats are making their final push across northwest Ohio.
Details on rally timing and tickets had not been released as of Thursday evening.
