When two of the biggest names in football decide to use their spotlight, they do it with heart. Patrick and Brittany Mahomes have launched a new initiative called “15 and FARE” — a food-allergy awareness initiative with deeply personal roots, confirmed by both Heavy and Athlon Sports.

The personal angle is what hits hardest: the couple’s two eldest children, Sterling, 5, and Patrick “Bronze” Lavon, 3, both have food allergies. Any parent who has ever scanned a restaurant menu for hidden allergens knows the worry — the Mahomes family lives it, and they’ve decided to do something about it.

The initiative is rolling out through restaurants first. Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que — a KC legend in its own right — announced on October 27 that it had put up its “15 and FARE approved” sign, becoming the first restaurant partner of the program. The beloved barbecue joint said it was proud to post the sign.

The program grew out of the couple’s charity, 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, and follows a summer back-to-school event that gave food-allergy families practical resources and support, according to Heavy.

For allergy families everywhere, seeing a power couple turn their own kitchen-table worries into a public program matters more than any Sunday scoreline. This one’s not about football — it’s about every parent who’s ever had to ask a waiter the same question twice.
