Taylor Swift Skipped Travis Kelce’s Game to Pitch Oscar Voters — and She’s Dead Serious About It
Taylor Swift missed the Chiefs’ 28-24 loss to Denver on Sunday — and it wasn’t a scheduling accident. She was at Disney’s New York headquarters hosting a screening and a 30-minute Q&A for Toy Story 5, personally pitching Oscar voters on her original song “I Knew It, I Knew You” for Best Original Song, per The Ankler.
This isn’t a casual campaign. Insiders say Swift is “masterminding” a full Oscar bid with an eye on a future EGOT. The song — co-written with Jack Antonoff — has already hit No. 1 on the Hot 100.
Why it matters to the Swifties in Toledo: An Oscar would put Swift one step closer to EGOT status — and the campaign trail runs through January, with Oscar nominations announced Jan. 21, 2027.
The Chiefs’ loss stings either way — but Swift clearly decided the Oscars were worth more than a regular-season football game. More on the campaign from The Comeback and Heavy.
