Country superstar Miranda Lambert is taking over Thanksgiving.

The Dallas Cowboys announced Sunday that Lambert will headline the 30th annual Salvation Army Red Kettle Kickoff halftime show during their Thanksgiving Day game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, November 26, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The game airs on Fox at 3:30 p.m. CT — one of the biggest regular-season stages in football.

Lambert, the three-time Grammy winner and one of country music’s most celebrated stars, said headlining the show is a homecoming. Raised in East Texas, she called it an honor to carry forward a Thanksgiving tradition close to home.

“There’s something special about how music brings people together, especially when it’s to spread joy and hope to families who need it most,” Lambert said in a statement. “The Salvation Army and the Dallas Cowboys have built an incredible tradition with the Red Kettle Kickoff, and I can’t wait to be back home in Texas this Thanksgiving to help carry it forward.”

The halftime tradition began at Texas Stadium in 1997 with Reba McEntire, and the stage has since hosted Beyoncé and Destiny’s Child, Dolly Parton, Carrie Underwood, Post Malone, Kenny Chesney and the Jonas Brothers. Last year, Post Malone headlined the show.

This year’s performance also kicks off The Salvation Army’s 136th Red Kettle Campaign. Over three decades, the halftime tradition and the campaign have helped raise more than $3.4 billion for people in need, funding food pantries, shelter, utility assistance and holiday meals in the communities where donations are given.

“The Red Kettle Kickoff has become one of the Dallas Cowboys’ proudest traditions,” said Charlotte Jones, the team’s chief brand officer and co-owner. “For 30 years, incredible artists have taken our halftime stage to help The Salvation Army bring hope to millions of people in need. We’re grateful to Miranda Lambert for joining that legacy.”

The announcement comes weeks after Lambert released her 10th solo studio album, Crisco, in early October. The album debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, continuing her unbroken run of 11 top 10s on that chart.

Lambert revealed the news in a promo spot released Sunday, riding in to AT&T Stadium and declaring: “It’s the 30th anniversary. You’ve gotta take the bull by the horns.”
