Vice President JD Vance headlined an election-eve rally Monday at the Grand Aire FBO Terminal Hangar at Toledo Express Airport in Swanton — one day before Ohio voters head to the polls in the Nov. 3 midterm elections.

Doors opened at 10 a.m., with registration required for attendees. 13 Action News reported Vance was expected to speak around 1 p.m., while WTOL 11‘s live coverage listed his speaking time at 1:05 p.m., with Derek Merrin, Vivek Ramaswamy and Sen. Jon Husted also expected to take the stage. 13abc’s live coverage also noted Donald Trump Jr. was attending the rally.

Swanton is Vance’s third Ohio rally in recent weeks — after stops in Sharonville and Lima — and caps his final day on the midterm campaign trail, which began Monday morning in Rome, N.Y., according to USA Today. WTOL reported the vice president was scheduled to fly to another rally after leaving Swanton.

The Swanton stop backs Republican candidates in three key Ohio races: Sen. Jon Husted in the U.S. Senate special election against Democrat Sherrod Brown; Vivek Ramaswamy for governor against Democrat Amy Acton, as WLWT reported; and Derek Merrin in Ohio’s 9th Congressional District against Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur.

Polling context: the FiftyPlusOne average had Acton ahead of Ramaswamy by roughly three points, Nation Press reported, while CNN’s average of the Husted–Brown Senate race had Brown up five. ToledoBuzz confirmed the rally details in its Nov. 1 announcement, “Vance Rally Time Confirmed.”

The Fostoria Free Press is covering the developing story.
