DETROIT — Sunday’s Lions Vikings 19-15 final at Ford Field changed the entire look of the NFL season. The last unbeaten team is unbeaten no more.

The Detroit Lions took down the 6-0 Minnesota Vikings 19-15 in a Week 8 slugfest that instantly became the national lead story — and one that Northwest Ohio football fans will be talking about all week. From Toledo to the Motor City, Lions fans packed downtown Detroit as the home team handed Minnesota its first loss of the season.

Jahmyr Gibbs was the star, torching the Vikings for 153 yards on 23 carries, including a 30-yard touchdown run in the third quarter that flipped the game. Jared Goff (18-of-25, 176 yards) threw his first interception of the season but answered when it counted, hitting Jameson Williams (4 catches, 70 yards) on a go-ahead 7-yard touchdown pass with 4:35 left.

Minnesota quarterback Kyler Murray finished 17-of-29 for 210 yards and two touchdowns, but Detroit’s defense owned the night — the Lions outgained the Vikings 384-266.

The win moves Detroit to 5-2, just one game behind the 6-1 Vikings in the NFC North race. And the spotlight isn’t leaving Ford Field anytime soon: Wu-Tang Clan is playing the Lions’ Thanksgiving halftime show — and Eminem picked them. Thanksgiving is coming to Ford Field.

Lions linebacker Jack Campbell left the game on a backboard with a back injury, per Sportsnaut.
