He Led Toledo Police on a 100-MPH Chase in a Stolen Car — Then Hid in a Trash Can. Now He’s Pleaded Guilty
TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo man who led police on a chase topping 100 mph in a stolen car — then tried to dodge arrest by hiding inside a trash can — has pleaded guilty.
Arris Campbell, 18, pleaded guilty Wednesday, Nov. 4, to a felony failure to comply charge, according to 13abc. He is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 24.
The chase started when officers tried to pull Campbell over near Detroit Avenue and Pinewood in Toledo and he refused to stop, leading police on a pursuit of more than 100 mph in a stolen vehicle.
The vehicle was eventually disabled and stopped. Campbell jumped out and fled on foot — and after a lengthy chase, officers found him hiding inside a trash can.
He was arrested on four charges, including failure to comply and receiving stolen property.
