Elon Musk’s ‘Musk’ Doc Got Pulled From Almost Every Theater — But Maumee Still Has It
Alex Gibney’s 4-hour “Musk” documentary had one of the roughest theatrical rollouts in recent memory. The film collapsed from 472 screens down to roughly 60 after a $314,000 expansion weekend, and distributor Bleecker Street moved the VOD release up to Nov. 6 — nearly three weeks earlier than planned — according to the A.V. Club.
But if you want to see it the big-screen way, Toledo has an unlikely answer: the Maumee Indoor Theatre at 601 Conant St is one of the few screens left. The theater posted “MUSK – 6 PM” on Oct. 31, in a limited five-day screening window, per the theater’s listing.
There’s a prestige angle, too: “Musk” just made the DOC NYC 2026 shortlist — an Oscar-contender slot — according to Cinema Daily US. Whether you love him or love to hate him, a Maumee screening of the year’s most talked-about documentary might be your last chance on a big screen.
