The Michigan rock-rapper just said the quiet part out loud.

Kid Rock appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher this weekend and confessed that “Heal My Faith” — his new collaboration with fellow Michigan native Eminem, from his album Halfway 2 Jesus — features an AI-generated Southern gospel choir on the chorus, Consequence reported.

Rock said he sang the hook and harmonies himself, then prompted AI to generate the choir parts because — his words — “I’m an impatient guy.” He framed the technology as “a tool in the bag,” Paste reported — and revealed the AI choir also appears on “7 Sins,” his Lil Wayne collaboration from the same album.

Maher wasn’t having it. “A lot of people in a choir, and we put them all out of work. Isn’t that what really happened?” Rock shot back: “Did we put drummers out of work when the drum machine was invented?” — while admitting AI “needs to be regulated at the highest levels,” Men’s Journal reported. That back-and-forth is the clip lighting up social media this morning.

This is far from Rock’s first ToledoBuzz headline this album era: Eminem and Lil Wayne pulled a last-minute feature switch on Halfway 2 Jesus back in October, and Rock recently told the wild story of Trump handing him a phone with France’s president on the line.

Innovation or shortcut? Either way, the AI-in-music debate just got its loudest Michigan voice. (And yes — we’re keeping this one about the music.)
