Paris Jackson Is Demanding $600 Million From Michael Jackson’s Estate — Here’s What Her Bombshell Filing Says
Paris Jackson is taking her family’s fight over Michael Jackson’s fortune to court — and the number is staggering.
The 28-year-old filed a petition Oct. 29 in Los Angeles Superior Court asking a judge to order a preliminary distribution of $600 million to the Michael Jackson Family Trust, arguing there is no legitimate reason the money hasn’t been transferred more than 17 years after her father’s death.
At the center of her filing is longtime estate executor John Branca, the attorney and chairman of The Michael Jackson Company whom Jackson hired in 1985. Branca resigned in 2006 and rejoined eight days before Jackson died. Paris accuses Branca of maintaining an “iron grip” over the siblings’ money.
According to the filing, the will stipulated income from trusts starting at age 21, with one-third of the principal at 30 — but Paris says the payments never happened as intended, and that smaller amounts determined by Branca were sent instead. Her brother Prince turns 30 in four months.
Paris alleges the estate generated more than $2.5 billion through December 2024 and held roughly $850 million in cash, meaning the $600 million is available after liabilities.
The estate pushed back. A spokesperson said funding is blocked by legal hurdles including ongoing IRS litigation seeking $700 million in taxes and penalties, called the “cut payments” claim “a complete fabrication,” and said more than $200 million has already been distributed to or for the beneficiaries.
A hearing is scheduled for December. Michael Jackson died June 25, 2009, at age 50.
