BGSU Linebacker Arrested for Aggravated Burglary After Roommates Locked Themselves in a Bathroom and Called 911
Bowling Green State University football linebacker Jonathan Goins was arrested early Saturday morning at a Lehman Avenue apartment in Bowling Green, after two roommates locked themselves in a bathroom and called 911 when they heard someone inside the apartment, BG Falcon Media reported, citing a Bowling Green Police Department report.
Goins, 20, told police one of the women had trashed his apartment earlier that night and said he had been given a key to enter the apartment. The woman said she never gave him a key.
Officers found a handgun on Goins, who claimed he had no bad intentions and said he always carries it.
Goins was charged with aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony, and carrying a concealed weapon, a first-degree misdemeanor. He appeared in Bowling Green Municipal Court Monday, requested a continuance to consult an attorney, and was released on a $50,000 bond.
Goins transferred to BGSU in January and is a sophomore. The arrest is the second high-profile legal case for Falcons football this fall: in November 2025, three players were charged with assault after an incident at Ziggy’s bar in Bowling Green. All three pleaded to disorderly conduct; two remain on the team and the third transferred to North Dakota.
