Their Grandkid’s School Water Runs Black — Bowling Green Votes Today to Save Its Schools
Imagine sending your grandkid to a school where the water runs black out of the tap. That is the reality Bowling Green councilwoman Sandy Rowland described Monday night — and the reason she says families are “turning to move to Perrysburg.”
Superintendent Francis Scruci made the case before council: the school levies on today’s ballot would save the district an estimated $72 million through consolidations and efficiency changes. Every council member voiced support.
This is one of several school levies on ballots across NW Ohio today. Toledo voters are weighing their own $242-a-year school tax hike (Issue 9), and our 6 AM election overview has the full ballot picture. Bowling Green voters are also deciding the Wood County Human Services levy renewal — about $3 a month per $100,000 of home value.
