The judge overseeing the capital murder case in the killing of Kei’mani Latigue agreed Wednesday to pause three unrelated rape trials against Darnell Jones until after the capital case is tried.

Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Michael Goulding approved the delay, which both the prosecution and Jones’ defense attorneys requested. All four cases will now be reassigned to a single judge.

The next pretrial conference in the capital murder case is scheduled for Nov. 23.

Latigue, 13, was found dead in Toledo earlier this year. Jones, her father, faces a capital murder charge in her death.

The Blade first reported the judge’s order.
