Cardi B Told a Sold-Out College Crowd to Stop Cheating With ChatGPT
Cardi B didn’t come to Johns Hopkins to play — she came to lecture.
The Bronx rapper crashed Hoptoberfest as a last-minute surprise headliner on Saturday night (Nov. 1), taking over the O’Connor Center after Daniel Caesar canceled — and yes, students genuinely thought the surprise-headliner announcement was fake until she walked out on stage.
Then she did the most professor move ever. Mid-set, Cardi grabbed the mic and gave the sold-out crowd some academic advice:
“Y’all better pass y’all motherf–kin’ semester… And don’t ask ChatGPT for the answer.”
The crowd — which had sold out the show weeks earlier, on Oct. 21 — ate it up. There’s something delicious about one of hip-hop’s most chaotic icons turning into the semester’s strictest TA.
It’s also very on-brand. Back in February, Cardi went viral on X with the immortal line: “Free my older family members from facebook Ai.” The woman has opinions about artificial intelligence, and she is not gatekeeping them.

Consider this your official syllabus warning, straight from Bardi herself: study hard, party harder, and keep the bots out of your homework.
