Say it with me: MCR5 is happening. The era of pretending we’re fine is officially over — My Chemical Romance is making a new album.

At Friday night’s Devil’s Night show at the Hollywood Bowl — the fourth of five sold-out closing dates on the Long Live The Black Parade tour — Gerard Way looked out over the Bowl and dropped the news emo millennials have been begging for since 2010: the band will spend all of 2027 recording their fifth studio album, their first since Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.

Way told fans not to expect any shows in 2027 — the whole year is for the studio — but gave the crowd a lifeline: “Hopefully we’ll see you guys in 2028.” A 2028 tour, we are manifesting.

And if that weren’t enough, the night also delivered an emo-historic reunion: The Used’s Bert McCracken joined MCR on stage, their first live performance together since 2005. Two generations of eyeliner, one stage. The crowd absolutely lost it. (Parade)

The show also debuted “We Don’t Need Another Song About California” live — and Way teased that the band might play secret sets under the name “Helena” if they ever get “really rusty.” Consider us seated.

Toledo folks already know the vibe: this site spotted Olivia Rodrigo freaking out at MCR’s Black Parade anniversary show earlier today — and honestly, same, Olivia. We are all living in our feelings tonight.
