DETROIT — Thirty minutes. That is all the warning KATSEYE fans got before their sold-out Detroit show was gone.

Fans had already packed Little Caesars Arena on Tuesday night when the screens flashed the news at 7:30 p.m., just half an hour before the scheduled 8 p.m. start: the show was postponed due to illness — and would be rescheduled.

“We’re sorry to share that the Katseye show scheduled for tonight at Little Caesars Arena has been postponed due to illness,” the arena announcement read.

The group later clarified that member Megan Skiendiel was “unwell and unable to perform.”

Inside the arena, the reaction was immediate — and heartbreaking.

“So many kids in LCA, simultaneously, just burst into tears. They were all crying. It was so awful and it was so sad,” mom Megan Schikora, who attended with her 10-year-old daughter, told the Detroit News.

She questioned why the call came so close to showtime: “The venue was full. Everybody was already there.”

For some families, the last-minute cancellation was not just disappointing — it was expensive.

Mom Jessica Lenhardt drove five and a half hours from Skokie, Illinois, and spent around $5,000 on VIP tickets, travel and outfits for her daughters, ages 8 and 10. She told FOX 2: “It was shocking that they went through and kind of kept our hopes up until a few minutes before the show.”

What made the timing sting even more: three members — Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj and Yoonchae Jeung — had already taken part in a VIP meet-and-greet and performed two songs during a pre-show soundcheck.

KATSEYE apologized on Instagram: “We’re so sorry to share that tonight’s show at Little Caesars Arena has been postponed due to illness. Unfortunately, Megan is unwell and unable to perform tonight, and we want to make sure she has the time she needs to rest and recover.”

The group added that they knew fans had traveled and made plans and were “incredibly disappointed.”

The backlash, as reported by Page Six, comes just days after our Nov. 3 report on the postponement — and fans are now waiting to hear when the rescheduled date will be announced.

For context, KATSEYE was formed in Los Angeles in 2024 on Netflix’s “Popstar Academy: Katseye,” performed on Saturday Night Live in September, and earned two Grammy nominations this year, including Best New Artist. Manon Bannerman and Sophia Laforteza have been on hiatus for the past few months.
