Cage The Elephant Just Announced a New Album — and They’re Playing the Lions’ Halftime Show in Munich
Cage The Elephant is back — with a new album, a new single out today, and a Detroit Lions halftime show on the way.
The band announced their seventh album, Dying In Reverse, on Wednesday, and it arrives February 5, 2027 via Big Loud Rock. The announcement came with a brand-new single, “Make It Easy,” which is out now.
Fans got a first taste of the song on Tuesday night, when Cage The Elephant debuted “Make It Easy” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! — with Kimmel holding up the then-unannounced album art during the set. The band followed it up with an intimate Los Angeles show on Wednesday.
“Make It Easy” follows July’s “Beaches In Tennessee,” the band’s 14th No. 1 on Billboard Alternative Airplay, and the album’s title track. Dying In Reverse runs 12 tracks and was produced by Justin Raisen and SADPONY.
And here is the part that hits close to home for Northwest Ohio: on November 15, Cage The Elephant will play the official NFL halftime show in Munich, Germany, during the New England Patriots vs. Detroit Lions game. The Lions are taking their show overseas, and one of millennial alt-rock’s biggest bands is providing the soundtrack.
The new album follows 2024’s Neon Pill and is the band’s first since leaving RCA for Nashville-based Big Loud Rock.
For a generation that grew up on “Cigarette Daydreams” and “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked,” this is the kind of announcement that stops the scroll. A new Cage The Elephant era is officially underway — and it runs straight through Detroit.
