Fostoria Man Held on $1M Bond in 20-Year-Old Cold Case Murder
FOSTORIA, Ohio — A Fostoria man accused in a 20-year-old cold case murder is being held on a $1 million bond after a secret Seneca County grand jury indictment charged him in the March 2006 killing of Jeffrey Risner.
Bradly Ray, 50, was arrested Oct. 29 in connection with Risner’s death, 13abc reports. Risner’s body was found inside a utility building behind his Palmer Street home in March 2006. An autopsy found multiple sharp-force wounds to his neck and blunt-force trauma to his head.
Bond was set at $1 million on Oct. 30, and a pretrial hearing is scheduled for Nov. 9. The Fostoria Free Press reports the case was reopened with help from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. 13abc reports Risner was Ray’s former roommate, and that the victim’s daughter said she is “not surprised” by the arrest.
Ray is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
