Stevie Wonder Brings His 50th Anniversary ‘Songs in the Key of Life’ Tour to Detroit’s Fox Theatre for Two Nights
Stevie Wonder is celebrating 50 years of one of the greatest albums ever made — and Detroit is on the list.
The Motown legend plays The O2 in London tonight, Thursday, Nov. 5, performing his landmark double album Songs in the Key of Life in full as part of his 50th Anniversary Tour. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. London time, with the show starting at 8 p.m.
Then the tour crosses the Atlantic. The U.S. leg runs Nov. 19 through Dec. 19, 2026, with stops at Madison Square Garden in New York (Nov. 19), the United Center in Chicago (Nov. 21) and Capital One Arena in Washington (Nov. 23) — before Wonder plays two nights at Detroit’s Fox Theatre, Dec. 8 and 9. The run wraps Dec. 19 at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
What Detroit fans will hear
Wonder is performing all 21 tracks from Songs in the Key of Life in order, backed by a full band, horns and strings. The shows run about three hours.
Released Sept. 28, 1976, the album spent 13 weeks at No. 1 and won the Grammy for Album of the Year. Fifty years on, it is still routinely ranked among the greatest albums ever made.
The 18-date anniversary tour kicked off Oct. 13, 2026, in Birmingham, England. A four-song EP of previously unreleased session recordings from the album was released Sept. 28, 2026 — exactly 50 years after the original.
