If you own property in Lucas County, check your mailbox. The Lucas County Treasurer’s Office has sent out nearly 12,000 delinquent property tax notices to property owners across the county, Treasurer Lindsay Webb announced. The effort was reported by 13abc on Nov. 5, 2026.
First up: out-of-town owners. The county is targeting 407 properties owing a combined $3.6 million in overdue taxes. Those 407 properties will be targets of a tax certificate sale, and the county is bringing back tax lien sales as part of a renewed effort to track down lost revenue.
Other delinquent owners are being urged to pay up or set up payment plans before they end up on the list.
Separately, the Lucas County Auditor’s legal notice says the delinquent land tax list will be published in a newspaper of general circulation in Lucas County on Thursday, November 12, 2026. Owners who pay in full at least seven days before publication will have their names removed from the list. Questions about payment go to the Lucas County Treasurer at 419-213-4305.
Bottom line: check whether you got a letter, and contact the Treasurer’s office about payment or a payment plan.
