Hilary Duff Teases Another New Album — and a Residency Instead of Another Massive Tour
Lizzie McGuire generation, stand up — Hilary Duff is not done with music. Not even close.
The pop star is on the cover of Billboard‘s November 7, 2026 issue, photographed by Gleeson Paulino, and in the cover interview, she made it clear: another album is very much on her mind.
“I 100% want to make a new album,” Duff told Billboard. “Now that I’ve cracked that part of my business back open, I don’t want it to just go away again.”
She hasn’t started it yet — and a deluxe edition of Luck… Or Something is also still in the works — but the intent is unmistakable. After waiting more than a decade for her comeback, Duff is not letting the momentum fade.
That comeback, Luck… Or Something, arrived in February 2026 and reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 after an 11-year break from releasing music. For millennials who grew up with “Come Clean” on repeat, it felt less like a return and more like a reunion.
A residency instead of another massive tour?
When it comes to touring the next album, Duff is leaning toward something very different from the grueling, months-long treks of pop’s past.
“I’m not sure it’s ever going to look like that again. I think it’ll more look like what these [artists with residencies are doing],” she said, pointing to the residency-style model embraced by so many of her peers.
That makes a lot of sense for Duff, who has joked about never wanting to tour with all four of her kids again — a sentiment she shared with People. A residency would let her plant herself in one place, put on a spectacular show, and still get home.
Her Lucky Me Tour resumes in January 2027 and runs through late November 2027 after a 32-date extension, so fans will still get plenty of live Duff in the meantime.
New music — and a movie — right now
Duff just released “CATastrophe,” a single for The Cat in the Hat film soundtrack. The film opens in theaters today, Friday, November 6.
She is also part of this year’s iHeartRadio Jingle Ball lineup, with dates in Los Angeles on December 4, New York City on December 11, Boston on December 13, and Nashville on December 17, according to iHeart.
To be clear for local fans wondering about the Motor City stop: Duff is not on the Detroit Jingle Ball bill on December 8 at Little Caesars Arena. That lineup features Alex Warren, OneRepublic, Ludacris, Tove Lo, Jason Derulo, Bella Kay, Freya Skye, The Beaches, and JYT.
Still, between a Billboard cover, a new single, a holiday run, a tour stretching through most of 2027, and now a teased new album — possibly followed by a residency — Hilary Duff’s second act is shaping up to be even bigger than the first. What dreams are made of, indeed.
