Seneca County voters have renewed the county’s mental-health and addiction services levy for another 10 years.

The 0.7-mill renewal passed with 12,285 votes in favor — 65.7 percent — to 6,426 against, or 34.3 percent, according to unofficial results reported by TiffinOhio.net. All 51 precincts were counted.

The levy supports the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Seneca, Ottawa, Sandusky and Wyandot Counties, now known as the North Central Behavioral Health Board. The money pays for community mental-health and addiction service providers and for building, maintaining and running treatment facilities in Seneca County.

Because it is a renewal, it continues the same rate property owners already pay rather than adding a new tax. The board has said the levy money stays in Seneca County.

Programs funded by the levy include crisis and mobile crisis services, outpatient and inpatient treatment, housing help, peer support and jail mental-health services.

The levy was on every ballot in the county, including the Seneca County portion of Fostoria. Results are unofficial until the Seneca County Board of Elections certifies the canvass later this month.

The same board also had a 0.6-mill renewal on Wyandot County ballots — $361,454 a year, about $13 per $100,000 of market value, for 10 years starting in 2027.
