Heated Rivalry isn’t just coming back — it’s tripling down. Deadline reports the breakout Crave/HBO hockey romance is filming two six-episode seasons back-to-back — plus a standalone Christmas movie.

Season 2 is confirmed to premiere in spring 2027, with April the likely window. And the cameras are already rolling: production on the two seasons is set to wrap at the end of November / early December.

Here’s the twist fans didn’t see coming: the movie won’t center on Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie). Instead, the holiday film will focus on Scott Hunter (François Arnaud) and Kip Grady (Robbie G.K.).

The movie is a Christmas special — a holiday-themed film shooting in December, planned for a theatrical release in December 2027.

Before you mark your calendar in ink, a caveat: Crave told Deadline it has “no projects to confirm” beyond Season 2. So Season 3 and the movie rest on sources for now — reportedly in the works, not officially announced.

What we do know about Season 2: it adapts The Long Game (book 6 in Rachel Reid’s Game Changers series), with Role Model (book 5) incorporated — and creator Jacob Tierney has confirmed Season 2 is six episodes.

The series premiered in November 2025 and became a breakout hit — the viral streaming hit of the past year. The signs were there months ago: a leaked August Cameo from co-star Dylan Walsh hinted at “twelve episodes” being filmed.

Two more seasons. One Christmas movie. One very busy rink. Parade and the AV Club are tracking the same reports — and if they hold, the Heated Rivalry universe is about to get a whole lot bigger.
